The clocks got changed last nite. I was up early, checked the river flows and just before sunrise I grabbed the Spey Rods, Waders and headed out. The river is still hi 1960cfs.
I went anyway seams like a long time that I hit the river,
I was in the water standing waist deep at sunrise, where a in normal year only my ankles would be in the water. (not liking it ) Air temp was a cool 26 and zero wind. The full moon was still hi in the sky, water gin clear, and much warmer that the air.
I swung nymphs and the standard flies until I was hit in the back with a 90% submerged tree limb that nearly knock me off my feet. and tangled me up. Yes I'll admit startled the shit rite out of me.
That was about 9am I bagged it in. Called it quits. Done for the day. The full moon was setting. over the cascades, and I was still in the shadows of the canyon another 20-30 minutes before the sun hit the water. Hopefully the damn tree didn't put any holes in my G3s. I'll know next time I go out.
.You never know how good or bad the fisin is unless you go try. Today just could of been one of the awesome days that clould of gone down in the memory books and the stories to be told for a long time, It wasn't but it wont stop me from going again soon.
There is the private lake.Think I'll have to get some second breakfast and go do some trout Fishin.
