We had a pretty fair turn out considering the weather. The
out of towners Larry & his wife Judy from OR., Rich R came up from Richland,
Gordon from Kennewick, Mark from the Wetside, and locals Stewart & Peggy, Judy, Dan B, Dan K, and
myself. Mark and Gordon had fished
up at Walker lake one day and hit Beaver & Beth said they caught some fish.
After a big breakfast
of hash brown, eggs, sausage, beacon, blueberry flapjacks. We sat around and
caught up on some of the fishing and travel stories. Watching the rain fall all
around us, while staying under everybody’s RV awnings. Rich and Gordon got
their rigs packed up we all said our good byes and headed out they’ll be bac
next month for Chopaka, Judy and Peggy also headed bac to Omak.
The sun started to
peek out about noon so a few of us headed down to the water and put in. the
lite breeze blew off and on the clouds came and went only dropping a drop or
two now and then. The fishing was slow but we hooked in a few fish.
I did a nice stay down Brown maybe 30 feet off shore that
took a few nice runs, and it took some time to make sure it swam away after the
net. But it was strong and I kept my eyes open that I wouldn’t see his come
back up to the surface. When I went pass
the inlet pipe no water was coming in but later as I was working my way back
out it was flowing again. The water is pretty warm at 65 and some of the Bows
are starting to get the warm water sores already. If you look at them close you
can see the finger prints of where people have handle them. I do my best as to
just use my net keep them in the water and use my hemostats to release the hook
if it doesn’t come out without the pressure.
By 3:30 I had worked
my way back to the launch; Larry and Judy were coming down the hill to get his
boat ready to load up so they could get on the road heading home. By the time I
was packed up and back at the top of the hill Stewart and Dan B had their stuff
almost read to leave. .
Mark and Gordon had
fished up at Walker Lake one day and hit Beaver & Beth said they caught
some fish. But that’s another story to be told later.
Another good time
with good friends, some fishing and lots of BS stories.
