Sinlahekin Big Blue

The boyz from the Wetside are over and more showed up Troy flew up from AZ. And Brian pick him up at Seatac  before coming over, Rob showed up while we were in the water and he brought a friend.  And come Friday there will be 2 more to show. Dan’s dad Richard turned 71 and he and Dan have been doing the Father/Son thing every may with out missing on 31 years. This makes the 20 year for me.
9 AM air temp. 58  3:30 air temp. 78  A south wind blew between 8 and 12 MPH all day long with gust I’d say to 15.                                     Many times it looked as if we would get rain, but never did.
I wasn’t more than 20 feet from the boat launch when I got my first strike, using my clear intermittent line with a red eyed Damsel Nymph. With cheers from boyz still on shore I brought the first fish to the net.  Fishing the south end to keep the wind to my back, I ventured into the very south end of the lake looking for a place to get out of the wind. Going thru the shallow narrows I pick up a 16 inch Bow and pick up 4 more working my way around the outer edges but all were small in the 12-14 range. The wind wasn’t quite as bad but I wanted to fish with the others. So I headed back out everybody was picking up fish here and there mostly in 12 to 14 feet of water. But the casting was tuff with lots of wind knots. I finally dropped anchor just about 30 ft from the west shore and 50 yards south of where we all launched pulled out my bobber lobber tied on a  SZ 16 Snowcone and gave it a fling with the wind chop it didn’t take long before bobber down. And for the next hour It was the same just about every cast I had a fish I’de say the biggest was a 18 the smallest being a 12. But to my surprise I did get 1 very not real long but very fat Brown.
Most everybody headed to shore close to noon, when Rob and his Buddy Brian showed up and to have some BBQed lunch. By 1:30 most of us were back in the water with very few fish being caught and the wind speed picking up stronger. I was back out and packing up my stuff at 3. After lunch I only put 2 Bows in the net and lost 1.
So all in all I put some nice fish in the net lost a few,  did the best on the Snowcone just off shore in 9 ft. of water so I’d say I had a pretty good day.

Brian and Troy the other Brian and Rob were going to head back to Green Lake to fish again, Troy told me he and Brian had caught twice as many fish in the couple of hours the day before than the two of them caught all day here fighting the wind.

It's 5:30 and looking at my weather station  the wind is blowing at 9.6 MPH and It's kinda being block from the big hill behind the house. Weather Bug says it 14 MPH at the airport. Wonder where we're going to fish today.???????????????????????????????
